We offer music therapy lessons for children in Durham Region as individual or group lessons. Generally each lesson is 45 min. long and costs $45.
Exercises we provide:
Usually we play relaxation games as warm-up in the beginning. Besides this further exercises are with their fingers on the piano. So they improve motor function. The result is to address certain areas of the brain to relieve tension or anxiety. In addition we try to help them to express their feelings through different tones. For example light tones for cheerfulness and deep tones for sadness and sorrow. As a rule the pieces children play are adapted to the situation and their skill levels. By the way exercises can involve painting or dancing. Consequently our teachers are specialized in these techniques.
