Introduction
I am talking about Worlds 2017 predictions and the format for this years Worlds Championship. This is happening from September 23rd to November 4th. This is being played over 4 different locations in China. Teams all over the world compete in their region to quality for a spot for this World Championships. This year is NA’s best chances to win Worlds this year.
Worlds 2017 Predictions
While there have been many articles about predictions on the strength of the teams coming into this tournament. The favorites to win this tournament are the 3 teams from the League Champions Korea who are SKT, Samsung Galaxy and Longzhu Gaming. Other most noteworthy teams who can compete are as follows Royal Never Give Up, World Elite and Edward Gaming from China’s league. In addition teams from NA & EU LCS that can make it out of groups are as follows Team Solo Mid, Immortals, Cloud 9 and G2 Esports, Misfits and Fnatic. Here are predictions are the first two worlds groups A and B. There is a vietnamese team that shocked everyone with their Mid Season Invitational performance and they are at this year’s worlds and they are as follows, Gigabyte Marines. They are very aggressive team and always have cheesy strategies to surprise teams. Group C and D Predictions
Worlds Format
The worlds format is as follows. There is a play ins stage which the international teams and teams who placed third in the NA and EU LCS and LPL. The following stage is the group stage which is the main stage. Following after that is the quarterfinals then the semi finals. Lastly is the Finals where the 2 best teams face off. From the quarterfinals to the finals these are best of 5 matches. Internal Link
As a result the teams that placed first and second in their region do not need to play in the play-ins stage. They go straight into the group draw. Following is how the groups are formed. One person picks a team out of a bowl and that person goes into group A, B, C or D. You cannot have 2 teams from the same region in one group so if that happens that team gets moved into the next group. TSM has the best chance to make it out of their group.
