Have you ever spent the time and effort applying your makeup for a special day only to find that your skin looks cakey and not natural at all?
As a South Asian makeup artist in Brampton , Makeup by Inthu, I have realized that everyone wants the same thing- to look like themselves but enhanced. Every woman loves the “no makeup” makeup look but foundation is one the most difficult products to master as a makeup artist. Everybody has different skin types and skin concerns that need to be considered in creating the perfect base.
Here are some tips from a fellow South Asian makeup artist in Brampton that may help you out!

My Top 3 Tips as a South Asian Makeup Artist in Brampton

Prep Prep Prep!

Exfoliating your skin removes any dry skin that can cause your skin to be patchy and not smooth. I recommend trying a 2 to 1 ratio of coffee grinds to honey twice a week to have baby soft skin. By doing this, you will be removing the layer of dead skin on your face and your foundation will apply more smoothly.

Prime it Up!

You don’t apply a base primer?! After applying moisturizer, apply a primer based on your skin type. If you have oily skin, use a mattifying primer. The Becca Evermatte Poreless Priming Perfector works wonders!. If large pores are your concern, try a smoothing primer to reduce texture. Check out Benefit Cosmetic’s Porefessional primer, I highly recommend it!

Use a Liquid Foundation

Liquid foundation is much lighter in comparison to a powder foundation and blends well into the skin. Use a beauty blender to blend it in seamlessly. While many seem to carry a BeautyBlender in their kit, you must know how to use it as well.
Make sure you soak it with water and squeeze out excess water. Remove excess water on a paper towel before blending out your foundation. I recommend the Original BeautyBlender, found at Sephora, for a flawless application.
