Established in 1975 Focusing on a business model at the point of being a specialty coffee retailer. Currently a Canada wide company with over 345 locations. We have prioritized in the variety of different coffee beverages such as Lattes, Espressos, and recently Blended drinks. The variety of drinks as well as food served is always taking on a unique and innovating style at Second Cup. Being able to provide not only organic but fair trade coffee beans to ensure the quality and standard of our coffee never fails to impress! Growing and moving forward as a company, we intend to expand into the cannabis industry as well as other health related premium products.
Our Story
Expansion into Cannabis Coffee
Following the Legalization of cannabis & cannabis-related products at the Federal level in Canada on October 18th, 2018. Here at Second Cup Coffee, we have decided to expand into an even more unique and expanding industry. Officially on April 1’st 2019 when Federal Law approves the distribution of Cannabis & related products by the private sector we intend to begin brewing coffee containing THC(Tetrahydrocannabinol). Also following this stride we intend to convert over 100 of our current locations selling exclusively coffee into Cannabis Dispensaries. Through the partnership, we have built with the NAC(National Access Cannabis Corp). To best ensure we maintain the quality of products we are so proud of!
Why Cannabis and why in Coffee?
Through many common misconceptions, it is said that cannabis & THC products do not benefit people in any way. However, that is just a misconception and nothing more. Through the legalization of cannabis in Canada, we are able to explore all of the positive applications of THC and cannabis. To begin we want to explore cannabis inside of coffee. Through this particular application of cannabis, we are able to remove the high that is traditionally experienced through other methods of delivery. This way we are able to directly apply the positive benefits of THC. Factors including but not limited to relaxation, stress relief, anti-nausea, pain relief, and a great antioxidant!
The Future of Second Cup and Cannabis Coffee
As we enjoy introducing more healthly related products to our product line, we intend to launch Cannabis cafés following the legalization in certain location in Canada. We want to emphasis on the THC ingredient in our coffee and possibly expanding towards other beverages as well. We believe that it will be a growing industry and we want our customers to be able to have the first experience here at Second Cup. The launch for cannabis coffee will be starting in multiple locations in Oshawa this coming summer.
