After reading the article on how effective blogs are for driving purchases, I am truly surprised to hear that. I can understand why they do though, blogs are very useful and easy to use in the sense that they are very inexpensive, and easy  to use, and allow you to reach your consumers very easily with the exact content you want them to see. So I believe that blogs are a very effective marketing tool to use, and maybe the most underrated as well.

Facebook being the number one platform for influencing purchases is definitely no surprise, as one of if not the most popular social media platform right now, and on average brands spend 57 percent of their social media advertising budget on Facebook alone, according to the article.

Many consumers follow brands they like on social media for many reasons, to keep up with the brands activities and contests, to learn more about their products or services, to make purchases from the company, to interact with the brand, and so much more. Therefore its only suitable for that brand to try and use that to their ability and generate sales and revenue through their social media platforms.

It seems that the most popular way influencers are distributing their information is through blogs, and according to the article 59% of influencers use blogs as their primary source of influence. And facebook being their primary source of blogging with 92% of influencers having a Facebook account. Those numbers aren’t all that surprising when you think of how many users are actively using facebook, why wouldn’t influencers be all over that reaching out to all the users. Other platforms such as Twitter are also very popular and growing more popular as well, being the second most popular among influencers for producing shares, referrals and revenues.
