Instructional Contemporary Art Lesson
Expand your artistic horizon at the Art Gallery of Burlington with an instructional contemporary art lesson lead by acclaimed Toronto artist, Michael Snow. Responsible for such pieces as Flightstop in the Toronto Eaton Centre, and The Audience sculpted on the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Michael Snow has earned his fame as a professional artist.
During the lesson, you will be following along with Michael Snow as he demonstrates his sculpting process. You may create a similar piece as demonstrated or be inspired to make your own. This unique experience allows you to receive first hand advice from a great Canadian artist, and learn new ways to improve your own process.
For $50, you will have 4 hours to work with and meet Michael Snow. For your benefit, classes will not exceed 30 participants. This will ensure you have plenty of time to have all your questions answered. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be offered complementary during each lesson. Art equipment will be supplied but you are free to bring any additional art equipment you may need. Lessons will be conducted on January 10th, 2018 and January 11th, 2018. There will be a 11am and 4pm lesson each day. There will be a half hour lunch two hours into each session.
Each lesson will proceed as follows:
- 30 minute introduction of Michael Snow and his career in the art industry
- 1.5 hours of instructional lesson
- 30 minute lunch
- 30 minute of instructional lesson
- 1 hour of questions and networking with Michael Snow and other participants
