About Me

Hello and welcome to my corner of the Inter-Webs! My name is Natalie and my approach to my personal art practice is to create everyday art pieces by keeping motivated in my daily practice. I think keeping everyday motivational art ideas is essential to making art! To me, keeping an element of play in your practice is vital to staying motivated and to finding motivation for art ideas every day. What do you think?

Education and Background

After finishing my formal art education from McMaster University in Hamilton, I struggled to keep up my art practice without the inspiration and motivation I earned from being in a studio teeming with communal ideas and a habit of art making every day.  How was I going to commit myself to my passion, my artwork, if I didn’t have the long hours in my studio? It seemed impossible to find everyday motivational art ideas.

The Problem

While my art making has traveled with me across the world, no studio space and little time makes keeping an every day, inspired, art practice seem like a dream. Returning to the idea of play, though, I thought: How can I make myself motivated to create everyday art that is both attainable and sustainable?

With a little help from time management (an ugly set of words, perhaps)and a dash of play, creating your own sustainable everyday art practice may not be as hard as you think. Setting aside a dedicated time each week while searching for inspiration every day helps make your artistic time, play time again.

Solution: Everyday Motivational Art Ideas

Interested in restarting your art practice? Join me as I find inspiration every day and enjoy the challenges of bringing play back into the studio through sustainable art exercises week to week. You can follow my adventures on Facebook and Tumblr or right here!

How do you bring play into your everyday art practice? Where do you find your motivation and inspiration? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Reach out anytime!

Happy art making!

Abrazos,

Natalie
