Students will learn first of all, learn what big data is, what analytics is, and popular tools in the industry, along with current industry examples.
What is Big Data and Analytics?
Big Data and Analytics Course: What You’ll Learn
- Students will also learn how to look at organizational goals, and the value provided to a range of stakeholders by data analytics. Big data systems and processes will also be researched and analyzed. They will furthermore explore the basic ideas, functions, techniques, and technology of the current field.
- Students will study how data analytics systems and skills, including planning. As a result they can also inform business decision makers and meet their needs. Furthermore, how predictive analytics, statistical analysis and modelling, visualization, business intelligence and decision support can play an important role in modern business success, and in the future.
- The students will also learn about data management skills including data cleansing, and another system: ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) systems, as well and industry trends in contrast.
Students who sign up for the course through Sheridan will receive credit from Sheridan College only. Access to the course content will be provided through OntarioLearn.com. This course is offered on campus, and alternatively it’s also offered online for flexible learning.
- On Campus: classes are as a result delivered on campus, while students receive lessons in a classroom.
- Online: a web-based course offered entirely online through Sheridan. Students taking this course will need reliable access to the internet. You will also need a basic level of comfort using computers, with the self-discipline to study online.
