The Story So Far
Band History
The Story So Far is an American pop-punk band based out Walnut Creek California, formed in 2007. The Story So Far came into the American music scene with their debut album under the alias of “The Sunshine Skater Kids”. The band then quickly changed their name which was taken from another band, New Found Glory’s song titled “The Story So Far”. The Story So Far consists of members; Parker Cannon (Vocals), Kevin Geyer, William Levy (Guitar), Kelen Capener (Bass) and Ryan Torf (Drums). The bands original Ep was dropped in 2008 did not receive much recognition and was considered to be a failed music project. After two years of playing shows in venues across southern California the band was noticed for their talents and stage presence by music record label Pure Noise Records. Two months after signing onto Pure Noise, the band released an Ep titled “While You were Sleeping”.
Past Success
After the release of the EP the band began to turn heads in the music industry and gained massive exposure. The Band then Released albums “Under soil and Dirt” (2011). “What You Don’t See (2013), debut at #45 on billboard top 200. Split with the band Stick to Your Guns (2013) releasing hit song “Clairvoyant”. After release of What you Don’t See the band was on the cover of Alternative Press’ “100 bands you need to know”. Later going on to headlining shows at Warped tour music festival.
Moving Forward
Following the Warped Tour in 2014, the band took flight and started playing shows across Europe. Gaining massive exposure to fans internationally. After continually touring the band managed to released an acoustic EP called “Songs Of”. This Included hit song “Navy Blue” as well as a Bob Marley cover. This album also included acoustic versions of other popular songs. The band reached success on multiple social media platforms in 2015/16. Promoting their music on ITunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and SoundCloud proved to be beneficial. Catching the ears of listeners the band continued their success into 2016.
Present
The band is making music to date. High viewership on all music platforms. Working towards releasing a new album in 2017. Going forward the band will be touring across North America. Making trips into Europe as well. With hype around the new sound that they are creating fans are looking forward to their new music. With an already massive following the band is still reaching out to fans. Through the use of merch sales, clothing, vinyl’s and artwork. The band is also creating youtube videos for fan exposure.
This going forward will lead to even more band success. Creating music videos, fan appreciation posts and social media ads. Will help with the bands exposure and only continue to make them even more popular. The writing style of the band is elaborate and catchy, something that listeners can indulge in. With immaculate bass lines, cool drums fills and incredible guitar riffs like none other. The band has what it takes to take it to the next level in the music industry. Creating to work and tour with other bands such as ADTR and Brand New the band will only reach more listeners.
