Digital Influence Reflection
We are going to look over the article and give my first impressions, along with a summary and reflection on the quality and effectiveness of the article. At first glance, it seems like an article with a lot of useful information, with research done before it was written. It includes graphs and writing with each one, seeming like a reliable source. After the first glance, it got me excited to read it and study the topic, gaining more knowledge from it.
Summary
This is a slightly outdated article from 2013 but still includes reliable information that can be applicable today. It explains how influential blogs are to shape a consumer’s perspective. According to a study, consumers rank blogs as the third most influential digital resource when making a purchase. Followed by other major social networks such as Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Consumers love to follow these sites for reasons such as learning about a product, promotions, and keeping up with activities. Out of all the social networks, Facebook holds the greatest share of social spend.
Blogs are a major resource for the surveyed digital influencers, as 86% of them post publish a blog. It’s not surprising as influencers rank blogs as the best measure of their own success.
Therefore, it is obvious how big of an influence blogging is on people and the impact it has raised to becoming.

Since I first saw the article, I could tell I would enjoy reading it and was looking forward to learn about the topic. The first thing I noticed was the images and graphs used to prove their statements. I find it easier and more effective to read graphs rather than just paragraphs, which could get boring and distracting. As I read the article, I noticed how brief each statement was, getting straight to the point. This had be actively reading about the topic, taking in the different between each social site, as they had simple comparisons.
I also enjoyed reading about the author at the end, learning more about her experiences. The author also included a link to further research the topic if anyone wants to, which is greatly appreciated.
Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable article to read, which many great point made. Each point was brief and delivered the message effectively. I look forward to learning what else that author has published, learning everything I can from each read.
